ASSESSMENT

CALMA health provides a range of psychological assessments.

Our assessments are tailored based on the individuals presentation and referral. Below is a list of the most common assessments we offer and a general outline of what you can expect, but as no two brains are the same, neither are assessments.

At CALMA Health we provide a range of neurodevelopmental assessments including diagnostic testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disorders and FASD. Learning assessments provide insight into cognitive and psychological functioning, and provide recommendations to support learning challenges. These assessments consider Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and/or Dysgraphia as well as intellectual disabilities and behavioural challenges.

THERAPY

CALMA health provides a range of therapy services targeting different mental health and wellbeing concerns. We see children, teenagers, adults.

ASD or Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD are neurological and developmental disorders that affect how people communicate, learn, interact and behave. Although ASD and ADHD can be diagnosed at any age throughout the lifespan, they are described as  “developmental disorders” because symptoms generally appear while our brains are developing.

Neurodiversity: ASD & ADHD

Children and teens thrive when they have a positive understanding of mental health. This helps to build strong relationships, adapt to change and deal with challenges. Teenage years pose higher risk factors for negative affect on mental health due to environment, schooling, physical and hormonal changes. It is important to foster strong mental health practices throughout these years.
